The Short text field icon (text character in a box) short text field stores one line of plain text. For example, a first name or a short description.

What's this in FileMaker?

Short text fields in Claris Studio are similar to text fields in FileMaker Pro apps, except that you can't add formatting or enter text on more than one line.

When connected to your Claris Studio data source, FileMaker Pro apps can access these fields as FileMaker text fields.
