The related data field stores one or more references to records in another table. For example, the open jobs a client has.
The values that you see in this field are from the preferred display field of the selected records in the related table.
When you first set up this field, choose:
-
Related Table: The table whose records will be options the user can choose as values in this field in the current table.
-
(Optional) Create a return field in related table: When the related data field is created in the current table, another related data field in the other table will also be created to store references to the related records in the current table.
-
(Optional) Allow relating to multiple records: If users should be able to choose more than one value in this field, turn on this option. To limit this field to one value, turn this off.
