Checkboxes field

The Checkboxes field icon (checkmark in a box) checkboxes field stores one or more values defined in the field's options list. For example, all the answers that apply in a survey question.

What's this in FileMaker?

Checkboxes fields in Claris Studio are similar to fields that use a checkbox control style and a value list in FileMaker Pro apps, except that users can't add values to the options list in a checkboxes field while entering data.

When connected to your Claris Studio data source, FileMaker Pro apps can access these fields as FileMaker text fields. Though the options list for a checkboxes field's is available as a value list in FileMaker Pro, you must set the control style and assign the value list when you add the corresponding field object to a layout in FileMaker Pro.
