Web publishing settings
The Web Publishing Engine makes web published databases available to web users via FileMaker WebDirect, Custom Web Publishing with PHP, and Custom Web Publishing with XML.
Important Change web publishing settings only when the Web Publishing Engine is not being used. Web publishing clients can lose unsaved work when the Web Publishing Engine restarts.
To enable a Web Publishing Engine:

Click the Connectors > Web Publishing tab.

For Web Publishing Engine, set the primary machine or a secondary machine to Running.

Windows, macOS: If the required JDK is not installed, follow the provided instructions to install the appropriate JDK.
To replace the existing JDK for a Web Publishing Engine (Windows, macOS):

Click the Connectors > Web Publishing tab.

For Replace JDK, click Replace existing installed JDK.

In the Stop Machine confirmation dialog, click OK to allow the Web Publishing Engine to be stopped before uploading the new JDK.

Follow the provided instructions to install the appropriate JDK.
To run Java garbage collection to free memory for a Web Publishing Engine:

Click the Connectors > Web Publishing tab.

For Force Garbage Collection, click Run Garbage Collection Now.

In the Run Garbage Collection Now confirmation dialog, click Yes to allow Java garbage collection to run.
Note Running Java garbage collection for web publishing from the Connectors > Web Publishing tab is available on the primary and secondary machines.
